COVID-19 Task Force Calls for Tougher Indoor Air Standards
Friday, December 09, 2022 11:07 AM

Experimental mRNA Vaccine May Protect Against All 20 Influenza Virus Subtypes
Friday, December 09, 2022 11:03 AM
Flu season is now upon us, and protecting yourself and loved ones is still as easy as heading to the nearest pharmacy for your annual flu shot. These vaccines are formulated each year to protect against up to four circulating strains of influenza virus, and they generally do a good job of this. What they can’t do is prevent future outbreaks of more novel flu viruses that occasionally spill over from other species into humans, thereby avoiding a future influenza pandemic. Read more.

2022 Top Story in Clinical Dentistry: Dental Evacuation Systems for Aerosol Exposure Mitigation
Friday, December 09, 2022 11:01 AM

LJI scientists confirm smallpox vaccine also teaches T cells to fight mpox
Thursday, December 08, 2022 12:42 PM

Long-term population benefits of wearing masks for endemic infections depend on the biology of transmission and immunity
Thursday, December 08, 2022 12:37 PM

The Radiology Chain of Asepsis
Wednesday, December 07, 2022 10:16 AM
When exposing radiographs in a clinical setting, the chain of asepsis must not be broken. Diminishing possible routes of disease transmission, avoiding cross-contamination, and following the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations are key to establishing a safe work environment. Although much focus has been placed on reducing the risks posed by aerosols in the dental setting due to the pandemic, infection control protocols for intraoral and extraoral radiology should not be neglected.
