Dr. Don Cohen and Erica Smith will discuss current and new methods of infection prevention to maintain compliance throughout your office as we face new challenges. With increasing requirements because of the pandemic and emergent diseases,  practices are faced with a burdensome task of staying current with federal and state regulations. The speakers will help shed light on some recent changes and provide guidance on the critical components needed for setting up a simple and easy to implement comprehensive compliance program in your practice.

Speakers:
Don Cohen, DMD

Dr. Cohen is a licensed dentist in New York State for over thirty years with over 20 years of teaching experience at Columbia University SDOS and over 20 years as an Attending Dentist at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He is past president of the New York State Society of Dentistry for Children and is currently Director of Compliance for Health Compliance Team Inc., a national compliance company delivering total onsite compliance solutions to dental facilities. Dr. Cohen is also a member of the Board of Directors of the OSAP Foundation. Dr. Cohen is also the Chief Compliance Officer of HealthFirst, the emergency medical kit company. Additionally, Dr. Cohen lectures and consults nationally on emergency medicine in the dental office and dental facility compliance.

Erica Smith

Erica Smith is a Surgical Solution Manager at Henry Schein, Inc. In her role, Mrs. Smith helps guide health care professionals in conducting proper infection prevention protocols throughout entire Ambulatory Surgery Centers. She is currently completing her doctorate in Public Health, which will help advance her infection prevention skills and knowledge. Mrs. Smith believes that by helping health care professionals improve their infection prevention processes, communities will ultimately receive the best care.
