Register2024 APIC/OSAP IPC Collaboration Series Part II: Dental The Importance of a Dental Water Management Plan in the Prevention of Disease Transmission During Dental ProceduresSpeakers: Rosa Flores MD, MPH, CIC, and Linda Bouttaphom, BSN, RN Moderator: Amanda Hill, BSDH, RDH, CDIPC 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET The infection prevention department collaborated with the dental leadership to assure that the water used for patient care coming from the dental lines are following the recommendations of the CDC and ADA to meets the EPA requirements for Safe Drinking Water act. A review of the filtration system was performed revealing the need to implement a water management system in which multiple steps were added. Staff was educated, and logs were created to document steps. Water samples were collected to validate that the new steps were done properly and that the water is safe for use. Continuing Education OSAP is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.
