March 11, 2024 (ATLANTA) — The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) celebrates 40 years of making dental visits safer as it opens registration for the 2024 Annual Conference from May 30 – June 1 in Tucson, Arizona, at The Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa.

The 2024 OSAP Annual Conference will feature various opportunities for learning and engagement, including plenary sessions presented by world-class speakers and experts in dental infection prevention and safety. Amongst these speakers are leaders representing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The conference will feature concurrent sessions allowing participants to choose topics that interest them most. Furthermore, the agenda also features Poster Presentations and a new format – Table Clinics, 5-to-7-minute tabletop presentations where individuals will present informative and interactive demonstrations on topics related to dental infection prevention, occupational health, and patient safety.

In addition, OSAP will host special events in honor of this milestone anniversary, including an ‘80s-themed welcome dinner, a fan-favorite live and silent auction, and an Under the Stars reception on Saturday night.

“OSAP was founded in 1984 by a small group of passionate people from the oral healthcare industry in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. From humble beginnings to becoming a beacon of excellence in our field, OSAP has stood the test of time, guided by unwavering dedication and a shared vision,” said OSAP Executive Director Michelle Lee. “We are thrilled to celebrate our 40th anniversary during our Annual Conference. Participants will experience the beauty of the Tucson landscape and leave feeling reinvigorated and prepared to take on various challenges impacting their organizations."

OSAP will also offer a one-day Pre-Conference Workshop on May 29. This workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory landscape, the distinctions between various types of requirements, and how accrediting bodies such as The Joint Commission and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) evaluate compliance. Participants will also gain practical experience in developing their own Standard Operating Procedures related to infection prevention and safety, empowering them to implement best practices effectively within their organizations when they return home.

Two registration types are available – In-Person Plus and On-Demand Only. All participants can earn ADA CERP CE credits. On-demand recordings will be available for registered participants for 60 days following the conference. For more information or to register, visit osapconference.org.
